Kotler Art Gallery - Picture the Past: The Photography of the Burgert Brothers

In partnership with the Florida History and Genealogy Library, the Kotler Art Gallery features the visual story of early Tampa Bay with historic images taken by Al and Gene Burgert of the Burgert Brothers Studio- the premier commercial photography company in Tampa during the first half of the 20th Century. 

Reception: Friday, July 22 at 4:00 p.m.

A native of the Philippines, Arnel Artus is an award-winning artist who works primarily with oil paintings on canvas.  He describes art as “a passion” and enjoys “working from a realistic set up adding a little twist” to his paintings.  He has been a member of several artists’ societies in both the U.S. and his native country, including current membership in the Westchase Artist Society.

CoderDojo: Summer of Tech with Raspberry Pi: Session 3
Help your child learn how to code using Raspberry Pi!  Tampa Bay Area CoderDojo mentors will teach children and teens ages 7-17 to code, develop websites, apps, programs, games and more.  Your child will use Raspberry Pi to create various fun programs and technology projects from Python to Minecraft!

Pre-registration is required.  A one-time registration is required for the entire 6-week course.  When registering you will only register your child. Caregivers will not need to register. Limited to 10 children.  

Parents must stay with their child(ren) for the entire session. Parents signing up for seats will commit to bringing their youths once a week for the duration of the course. 

Raspberry Pi kits will be provided.

Achieve higher scores on the math section of the S.A.T. exam by doing practice problems on a regular basis. In each session of this class students will solve between 30-35 problems. These two hour sessions place emphasis on Grid-In/Student Produced Response, an approach that encourages students to be more precise and eliminates guessing.
