Kotler Art Gallery- The Art of Dallas Jackson

This exhibit features the eclectic art of St. Petersburg native Dallas Jackson. Dallas is an educator and an artist whose work is strongly influenced by African American art and history. His work has been featured in corporate exhibits and museums in the Tampa Bay area. This exhibit is a celebration of Jazz and features works in acrylics and mixed media.

A Call To All Artists Six by Six, Small Art Big Ideas
Applications are available for the Six by Six; Small Art, Big Ideas Exhibit that will be at the Crawford Gallery at SouthShore Regional Library during the months of May and June 2016.  This is a non-juror exhibit and all work will be accepted that meets the stated rules of the application.  All artwork must not exceed six inches by six inches including frame.   Applications may be picked up at SouthShore Regional Library Information Desk.  If you have any questions please contact Laurie Burhop Art Coordinator of SouthShore Regional Library at (813)273-3652.  Entry forms are due March 1, 2016.  Artwork is due April 15, 2016.

Upper Tampa Bay Regional Library Art Gallery: The Art of Vanessa Montenegro

A native of Lima, Peru, Vanessa Montenegro studied art in Miami, earning several degrees.  A founding member of the Westchase Artists Society, she is an award-winning artist, graphic designer, and art teacher.  Many of the subjects of her artwork include people, animals, sports, and nature.  Her exhibition, Color, Light, and Motion, will feature her recent drawings and paintings in pastel and oil.

Gallery on the Boulevard: Monis

Monis received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration from the Rhode Island School of Art and Design.  He has lived in the Tampa Bay area for several years creating art in many mediums, including murals.  Using subjects such as family, indigenous peoples, and celebrities, his work has dealt with memory, spirituality, and popular culture.  Monis has recently worked on large scale artists' books combining sketches, painting, and wood burning reliefs.  This exhibit includes a wide range of his works, including an artist’s book. Funded by the Friends of the North Tampa Branch Library.
