September
15 to October 15 is National Hispanic Heritage Month - a time to recognize the
histories, cultures, and contributions of Americans whose ancestors came from
Spain, Mexico, the Caribbean, and Central and South America.
As
part of this recognition, the Louise & Arnold Kotler Art Gallery will
showcase the artwork of local artists from the Coalition of Hispanic Artists
(CHA). The exhibition “Diáspora/Diaspora”
will feature works in photography, drawing, paint, sculptures, and poetry.
The
opening art reception will be held on Saturday, Sept. 14 from 2 p.m. – 4 p.m.
The art reception will host the Coalition of Hispanic Artists first poetry
contest, featuring unpublished works, written in Spanish, with a free theme. Meet
the artists and enjoy light refreshments.
