The Louise and Arnold Kotler Gallery presents The Art of the
Heart Gallery of Tampa, giving foster children a face, a voice, and a place to
shine. The mission of the Heart Gallery of Tampa is to raise awareness of Tampa’s
waiting foster children, engage the community in their welfare and secure
permanent, loving adoptive families. By photographing these children in their
best light, capturing their hope, their vulnerability, their pride, we bring
the cause of adoption into the hearts of millions of caring citizens each year.
The art reception, held on Thursday, Nov. 21 at 6 p.m., will host local author Liz Sutherland as she discusses her book, No Ordinary Liz, chronicling her incredible life story of surviving an abusive household and being thrust into foster care. This book, both memoir and guidebook, is designed to offer hope for those in and out of the foster care system, as well as support and resources for agencies, youth aging out of foster care and foster parents.
