Join the library and community partners as we celebrate the power of poetry and the importance of cultural heritage to kick off the 2021 NEA Big Read for Joy Harjo’s An American Sunrise (2019). This all-ages event will be held at the Tampa Bay History Center, 801 Water St, Tampa FL 33602. Free copies of the book and additional giveaways for youth are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Participants are invited to listen to an address by Tampa’s first Wordsmith, local writer and educator, Gianna Russo, and meet with local organizations.
